Cisoto Fotonovelas

Hussy's screen captures of Latin American telenovelas.

March of the Telenovelas

I'm approaching burn-out status with Pasión de Gavilanes, so it's perhaps a good thing that at least four new telenovelas are to debut on Univision and Telemundo in March. Let's look at some of these upcoming novelas and rate their casts re: screen capture-worthiness.

Apuesta Por un Amor
Debuts: March 8 on Univision. Airs at 8:00pm EST.
Cast: Juan Soler, Roberto Palazuelos
Capping potential: Eh. Depends on the supporting cast.

La Ley del Silencio
Debuts: Sometime in March on Telemundo
Cast: José Ángel Llamas from "Amor Descarado", Rodrigo de la Rosa, who was good as the pretty villain in "Prisionera", and Alejandro Chaban as a young boxer.
Capping potential: Promising. The story -- a priest struggles with desire and helps troubled teens -- sounds awfully cliche-filled, tho.

La Madrastra
Debuts: Muy pronto on Univision
Cast includes: César Évora, Eduardo Capetillo, José Luis Reséndez, Mauricio Aspe, Sergio Mayer, Miguel Ángel Biaggio
Capping potential: I'm there! Reséndez and Mayer are favorites, and Aspe and Biaggo are cap-worthy as well.

Other novelas not announced yet, but likely to debut in the next month or two, include Piel de Otoño (Sergio Goyri, Rene Strickler -- yawn); Inocente de Ti (the yummy Valentino Lanús); and the teen drama Rebelde.
